Is there a Great “Martesian” Basin, from which water “escapes” in certain places, forming petite “oases” on the planet’s otherwise “desolate” surface?
This gushing – or seeping – water originally arrived from the sky as rain… many thousands of human generations ago, when the proverbially dry Mars was a very wet place.
As you can see, the new photographic evidence is compelling.
Photo is copyright Doug Spencer, taken at 9.48 am on 11 June 2023.
We were aloft at that time, looking down at an utterly otherworldly/“alien” landscape.
My beloved and I are now returned from our June 2023 travels in mostly “remote” places, often “off-grid”.
Needless to say, we did not in fact escape “our” planet, let alone fly to Mars.
However, we did fly over Lake Eyre.
The above explanation of the image is essentially correct, once its pseudo-Martian aspect is excised.
I have a whole lot of editing/selecting/deleting to do before I will be able to publish any substantial “fruits” of our travels in SA and the NT.
Meanwhile, over the next couple of weeks, you can expect a series of single-image teasers.
Hi Doug, As usual I appreciate the records of your remote travels, whether they are beside the Swan, over watery Lake Eyre (do we know the name given to that phenomenon by Indigenous peoples who no doubt would have visited it?) or to other photogenic locations in foreign parts.
I look forward to the one-shot teasers as well as the fully developed frames when the edit is done.
