Deep South WA, Feb ‘25 (#6 in series: making a splash)

Generally, birds make very sure that they get properly wet, no matter how shallow is the available “bath”.

The pictured individual is a grey fantail, Rhipidura albiscapa.

This small insectivore is widespread across most of Australia.

#5 through #8 in this series are teasers; each introduces a particular kind of avian activity which will be further explored/illustrated in future chapters.

I took this post’s photo at 8.16 am on 14 February 2025.

As is true of most of this series’ bird photos, my vantage point was the front verandah of a house on a farm near Youngs Siding, between Albany and Denmark.
