Indonesia, 2024 (#7 in teaser series: on a Raja Ampat village jetty)

At 8.45 am on 09 October, we climbed onto the jetty at Aduwey – a village on Misool Island.

You are looking at a tiny piece of soft coral – severed, probably accidentally.

Good news: most of the local corals are intact, thriving.

So, happily, is the local school – that morning’s primary destination.

”Heartwarming” is an overused adjective, but it does accurately describe what we were about to experience/witness.
