Intertidal: #1 in series (Cable Beach)

So begins a series of single-image posts: each depicts a different aspect of the intertidal zone, where the sea “arrives” and “departs” at least once, every day.

In my opinion, Broome’s “iconic” Cable Beach is not even Broome’s most interesting shoreline, let alone one of Australia’s “best” beaches.

That said, it is well worth visiting, as are at least several thousand other Australian beaches, most especially when the sun is near the horizon and the tide is out.

I took this photo at 6.25 pm on 1 March 2016; its silhouetted human is my beloved.

Whilst the beach-proper was at that moment almost devoid of humans, in the licensed premises overlooking it hundreds of “punters” were downing thousands of “sundowners”.

#2 in this series also involves the Kimberley.
