“Red-tails in suburbia” (#20 in series)

Late afternoon, in a recently-burnt section of Shenton Bushland, a female Forest red-tailed black cockatoo spreads both wings and tail..

Like not a few other people we know, our hearts lift whenever we see a red-tail in flight, particularly when the bird, the sun and we are all in the “right” place.

In truth, my heart lifts whenever I even hear these magnificent birds – a privilege we enjoy hundreds of times, each year.
