Today’s photo shows a repeatedly-pleasing aspect of our June 2023 “outback” trip: it included a surprisingly large number of sightings of Australia’s largest raptor.
The optimist in me likes to think that wedge-tailed eagle numbers are recovering because a growing number of humans have abandoned their mistaken belief that wedge-tails are “vermin”.
The featured image was taken near William Creek, in northern South Australia, at 11.43 am on 11 June 2023.
As a future post will illustrate, we also enjoyed some closer, rather more dramatic wedge-tail sightings.
Hi Doug, I’m looking forward to the close ups.
Cheers
Bob
