The featured image’s flower heads and the musical bonus have no overt, particular connection.
Both, however, are uncommonly beautiful, exquisitely proportioned, and will reward your close attention.
The plant is (I think) a different species, but one closely related to the “hero” of #4 in this series; both are WA-endemic members of the genus Pimelea,
Photo is copyright Doug Spencer; it was taken at 2.09 pm, just one minute after #4’s images, and a few footsteps away from their location.

One of 2023’s loveliest albums is Hearing, by Mike Nock.
It was recorded in the same studio as was – thirty years ago – his previous all-solo-piano set Touch.
Hearing is mostly devoted to Mike’s compositions and spontaneous improvisations.
It also has three fine “covers”, including Jonathan Zwartz’s And in the Night Comes Rain:
The composer – a longtime friend of Mike’s – is also his occasional bass-playing colleague, and a fellow New Zealand expat, long resident in Australia.

This is a good place to buy a copy of Hearing.
The original, quartet version of And in the Night Comes Rain is on another excellent album, best purchased here.
