Thunderhead (#75 in “a shining moment” series)

 

 

The world’s most extensive tropical coastal wilderness is that of the Kimberley, in northern Western Australia.

Its landscapes are epic.

So are the skyscapes; Kimberley thunderheads can dwarf Everest.

The featured photo was taken at  5.56 pm on 07 March 2016, in Prince Regent National Park.

A short time later the thunderhead “delivered”:

Fortuitously, today I listened to an old favourite from 1982; it prompted this post.

Thunderhead is the titlepiece of an album by its flute-wielding composer Grey Larsen and its hammer dulcimer player Malcolm Dalglish.

On this piece the two Americans were joined by two Irish friends – fiddler Kevin Burke and guitarist Mícheál Ó Domhnaill.
