Tide Pool (#17 in “a shining moment” series)

Less than 100 metres distant is the mostly-dreary, seemingly never-ending sprawl of greater Adelaide’s southern suburbs.

Down here, however, the beach is still beautiful, and at low tide one can walk straight onto a reef where non-human life is abundantly evident.

The image shows a petite tide pool/rock pool – one of many hundreds that intermittently exist, each day, at Seaford.

This Tide Pool is a composition by Ralph Towner:

Winter Light was the 1974 album by Oregon, which at that point was a quartet of its founders. Here, Ralph Towner plays 12 string guitar, Paul McCandless oboe and/or English horn, Glen Moore double bass, and Collin Walcott tabla and other percussion.

Oregon made records and toured for very nearly half of a century, and each of its three surviving founders is still musically active in his own right. (for all four founders, Oregon was an ongoing but occasional project)
